MOBIfest 2025 + White Space Chelsea: Where Queer Art Took Center Stage in NYC

On Sunday, June 8th, White Space Chelsea opened its doors to one of the most vibrant cultural moments of Pride Month—the Queer Art Show and Day Party, part of the 2025 edition of MOBIfest, New York's groundbreaking festival celebrating Black queer creativity.
As part of a weekend filled with electrifying performances and community celebration, this special daytime event brought together visual artists, performers, DJs, and cultural voices from across the NYC metro area.
A Gallery Reimagined for Community and Expression
Known for its versatility and clean, gallery-style aesthetic, White Space Chelsea provided the perfect backdrop for the art show. The layout allowed for an engaging experience—guests moved seamlessly between installations, a portrait station, and a lively lounge area where a guest DJ set the mood for the day.
Each artist brought their own narrative to the forefront, contributing to a larger conversation around identity, visibility, and creative freedom. Whether through abstract pieces, bold photography, or conceptual works, the art on display spoke volumes about the depth and diversity of Black queer experiences in America today.
One of the highlights was the live headshot station by LaQuann Dawson, giving attendees the chance to be captured professionally in an affirming, celebratory setting.
Pride Through the Lens of Art and Community
The event perfectly reflected MOBIfest's mission: to amplify Black queer voices in all their forms and empower creators to claim space in every corner of the cultural world.
This wasn't just an art show. It was a moment of visibility, affirmation, and togetherness.
Supporting Culture, Always
At White Space Chelsea, we're honored to host events that celebrate inclusivity, elevate artistry, and inspire meaningful dialogue. As a venue located in the beating heart of Chelsea's art district, we see it as our role to provide not just space—but a stage—for voices that shape the cultural landscape of tomorrow.
